Default Possible Lingenfelter TRG-002 fail

Truck is a daily driven 2003 silverado SS.
Did a ly6 swap in 2011 when the original lq9 took a dump. Shop that did the install used the trg-002 to use my pcm and avoid having to swap the 58x reluctor wheel. Functioned flawlessly until recently. Engine dies while cruising intermittently, more often when ambient temp is higher. Also has trouble starting at times. No error lights on the trg-002. I cannot reproduce a stall while idling.

What i I have tried so far:
-dealer checked and found no codes
-inspected wires-found some wear with exposed wire on the crank out near the trg box, covered that with electrical tape. Loom near the crank sensor wire fell apart in my hands. Wires intact. New loom added. There is heat sheiding between this wire and the headers.
-Replaced the crank sensor cuz it was cheap and easy
-fuel pump relay looks good by visual inspection, no scorching

No change in issues after the above. Before I throw more parts at it, I wanted to get some input. I checked over on ls1tech and some of the early versions had heat issues. Possible mine is failing due to age and/or the wiring is failing due to the elements.

I can can try replacing the cam sensor, but I suspect I will end up replacing the trg itself unless there is some other possible issue.

Thanks in advance,
Nate

I plan on calling them for guidance. Work blew up on me and I ran out of time last week.

Lingenfelter suggested replacement due to age and problems I described. I forgot to ask if one has run for as long as mine had.

They did offer to test my box for free and send it back to me if it still works.

Found the issue. Wires from the crank sensor got cooked. The loom was actually melted to the wires inside. Between the tranny rebuild and adding long tubes the wires were way to close to the headers. Heat shield was on there but not enough apparently. New box installed and I routed the wires a little better with more heat shield material.

I don’t think so. Since I already purchased and installed the new one I am going to keep it for a back up. I would have to redo the crank in wire through.

Still working great since the install. Wires are looking good with the new position.

All I can say referencing what happened to mine, would be to visually inspect the wiring to the crank sensor and cam sensor. Mine were too damaged to save and I did not feel comfortable soldering new wires to the box, so I bought a new one and ran the wiring differently.
