Check your injector wiring at the injector. I had this issue and the metal clips inside the connection has opened up just enough to cause intermittent P0300 codes
I went through and crimped them all down to the point the injector tabs had to force them open to slide the clip back on. Nice and tight. No issues since.

thanks. thats the next thing i will try. roads were clean this morning so i got test drive the truck a little bit. the flashing engine light and the horrible misfiring only happens while driving at low rpm about 2k-3k. above that the truck feels like its running fine. and when i stop at a stop light the flashing engine light turns off.

does anybody know why the truck would run fine above 3000 rpms? it sounds to me like a fuel system issue

I'm having the same issue with my truck. It runs fine below 2k and above 3k, but anywhere in-between, I'll get the p0300, I logged on the street and mine are coming from cylinders 2&6. I'm going to double check the objectors harness.

A common theme here is the pacesetter headers. I put them on my truck and had this code come up also, along with a low voltage o2 sensor. I know you didn't set off a code for low voltage o2, but I changed a sensor and my truck was fine. A lot of time these headers will have either overspray or residue inside the tubes. so it will ruin sensors by clogging them up. they just need to be run and allow that residue to be burnt off. I'm still unsure if an o2 sensor is your problem, but its worth a try.

That's exactly what mine was doing...
A flashing light means the fault is occuring right then. Unlike other codes that trip the light and it just stay on. Loose plug, loose plug wire, loose injector connection. Those are my guesses anyway.

Having a similar issue with mine. Get the random misfire code. I also have a MAF code, so going to try to clean it. But changed out all the wires and plugs and still same issue.

Would the MAF code that I am getting cause me to get the random misfire?
