I thought they were different because Amazon was showing the wrong AC Delco sensor until I noticed the box at the top of the page that says "This part will not fit your 2000 GMC Sierra 2500"

I had a ac delco sensor on my new motor fail after the very first oil change.. it was an aluminum looking sensor. I replaced it with one made of brass and have had no issues....I am not sure the brand. I think it may have been another , more expensive version of the ac delco

The only metallic-looking one that I saw was for a later motor than mine. What year/gen is your motor?

FWIW... my cluster did the exact same thing when my stepper motors started to fail. Oil psi was first. Then voltage then my speedometer. I remember testing out my truck after I got it tuned and was doing just over 100 and the speedometer needle just fell all the way forward..lol.

BTW none of my gauges actually 100% failed. They still all moved around a bit from time to time. About $30 and a few hours and I had them all fixed. No problems since.
