Question Normal, or is something wrong?

Got my TBSS tuned by ADM (bought HP Tuners and uploaded it), and the truck runs great. One thing I've noticed since the truck was new, and with the stock tune, is that starting out from a dead stop, there seems to be a dead area, from the top of the gas pedal's movement to about a third of the way pushed down, that not much happens as far as acceleration. I've kind of trained myself to push down quickly past that section of the gas pedal's travel to get to the point where the truck starts accelerating.

I was wondering if anyone elses truck is like this, and if it was normal? It's not really a problem but more of a curiosity as to why it does this. The tranny has been tuned by ADM, but this issue is the same now as when the truck had the stock tune. I've been looking through the computer's tables to see if I could find something that might address this. Everything seems good.

Are your TBSSs like this too? Is there a table I should be looking at? Thanks.

might wanna post this in the tuning section. I think there was more TM on the 07's and every owner of 07 silverados is reporting the same dead feeling as you are. Some have been fixed with tunes though.

Thanks man, I'll keep looking into this.

In the Engine tab-->Torque MGMT-->Maximum Torque-->First Gear (all the gears really) I might try putting the maximum torque number in there, 6046 I think. All the gears are 85, 89, 103, 111, 125, 148, 185, 244, and 280, from 500 to 3k rpms. These are the stock numbers and what I've been running.

I need to mention that the changes above didn't help matters.

While the truck was idling, I experimented with the accelerator pedal. Slowly pushing it down, nothing happens at all (as in it just idles) for about the top third of it's range of motion.

Seems to me to be the drive by wire throttle body is causing this. see if you can see if the throttle position values change when you press the throttle

definitely seems weird, dbw could be a culprit. Post up your tune and even maybe a scan with reference to frame points where it happens.

moved to tuning for more tuning exposure.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I just realized this thread was moved to the tuning section.

The problem is pretty much gone changing the PE delay to 0, Enrichment to 2.0, and TM reduction.

Thanks again!

doh...PE delay. pe delay is really only the pcm commanding richer fuel settings quicker(or slower), I can't imagine pe delay fixing an actual delay in the foot pedal response. But hey, if it's working...kick ***.

dewmanshu, I think it's in combination with the other changes. I uploaded a bunch of changes at once, mostly because I have to do a "write entire," and I didn't want to make one change, do another write entire, etc. I knew I wanted to decrease TM anyway, so I'm not 100% sure what helped the most. Just to add, it's not completely solved, but where nothing happened in the way of acceleration, for about a third of the pedal's travel, now it's something like 10 or 15% of the pedal's travel. I don't consider it a problem anymore. Thanks.

I could post the .hpt file if anyone wants to see it. Let me know.
