I have a 2000 silverado with a lq4 and 4l80e. Its been sitting the past 2 or 3 months and its time for a new inspection sticker.

So all systems are ready but the MIL lamp doesnt turn on when commanded. I tried in hptuners and under the controls tab i turn MIL to on and it doesnt turn on. Any ideas where to start to diagnose it?

Check the bulb.

Thought they were soldered into the cluster ?

They are. They can be unsoldered and new ones soldered back on. You have to have some soldering skills and soldering tools and the ability to remove the cluster and take it apart. I've done it when replacing stepper motors in clusters. Alot of the stepper motor kits you buy on Ebay will come with replacement bulbs too.

Ohh. Makes sense. Ill look into it. I tried to command it on with hptuners and it still didnt come on and when i checked it in hptuners it said mil indication false (when it should be on).

Is there any other way of checking to make sure its the bulb before i do it?

It should come on with KOEO bulb check. Does it? I wouldn't trust anything not working with HPT V3.x

no. Doesnt come on at all. I just upgraded hptuners to v3 but havent played with it much yet.
