I have a Silverado 1500HD 2wd with an LQ4/6.0 engine.
It is going on 150k miles and am planning a rebuild.
I love the truck and want to rebuild the engine when it quits.
I am somewhat familiar with the internal engine but am going to have a shop do the work.
I am looking for about 400 HP.
I am looking for two options.
OPTION #1
I want to use common/stock GM parts off of similar engines and want it to run smooth and still pass smog without killing the gas mileage.
OPTION#2
I want to use GM Performance Parts/Aftermarket parts and want it to run smooth and still pass smog without killing the gas mileage.
Anyone know the best or easiest way to get the results I am looking for?
Anyone know someone who would know?
THANX

What year is it? Does it have aluminum heads? A good place to start is a 02+ ls6 cam,
