Looking for manual tune for segment swap

Just got EFILive today and would like to do a transmission segment swap on my 2001 T56 Silverado LM7. It was suggested that I could try to swap in a 5-speed trans segment in place of the 4L60E segment. However I'm having a hard time finding a 5-speed tune for my operating system (12208322). I would like to avoid using a different OS for smog purposes. I'm not sure if the OBD scan can detect a different OS.

Thanks!

I'm currently running a 5.3/4l60e OS with my 5.3/5 speed without issues. I mainly just turned off all the dtc's associated with the automatic. I looked at the stock file for a regency truck that came with the 5 speed 4.8 combo and it looks like basically the same.

Do you know where can I find that file? I can't even find any 5-speed tune.

I can check when I get home. I found it in the hptuner repository. I think it was labeled either regency or stock RST 4.8 tune. It looks a lot like an 4l60e os but all the trans dtcs where turned off.

Hmm I need an EFILive file. Maybe I'll manually do it from an F-body T56 segment.

The 5.3 wasn't available with a manual trans. That's why you can't find one.

Your OS has nothing to do with your Smog Check.

Hell, GM doesn't even know all the calibration files they used.

There only searching to see if the CEL is on and that the VIN number matches for your vehicle when you plug into the machine for smog check.

As long as you don't use a Custom OS you should have no problem. I have never looked into the custom OS so I don't know what it would do.

Your best bet would be to use an F body for a segment swap.

Don't segment swaps need to happen between tunes with the same operating system?

Only with HP tuners. They do this for the ease and safety so there won't be any hidden surprises.

The reason they recommend to do it this way is just in case there is a specific difference in the Engine files. For example if you look at the 99-00 tune's compared to the 01-02 tunes there are several differences within the individual files for each segment . Including options like EGR and Air Injection. Things like the idle tables, timing tables, injector tables and so on all differ through out the year ranges.

The Automatic trans files didn't change a whole lot through out the years with the exception of the pressure settings and percentages.

What os are you currently working with? I have eflive and did transmission swap from 6.0 tune into my 5.3 tune.

Well EFILive won't let me even let me load two tune files with different operating systems. Guess I'll have to do it manually. I'm mostly interested in getting the manual trans diagnostic stuff correct. Luckily EFIlive will let me open two instances so I can have the two tune files side-by-side. Pain in the but though.
