Getting some error messages on my XD16 guage. I can't find my book.
I'm getting E8 E4 E2 Any ideas? I just recalibrated a couple days ago. Errors were occurring before then too |
sorry to hear about that. I was shocked to find out how hit and miss the LC-1s are. Did you try searching on Innovate's forums?

looked through the forum and did some searching. really didnt find anything that would explain my problem. I plan on checking out all the wiring and the connector tomorrow... who knows, maybe its something stupid/simple...

Good luck with your LC-1. I was more than disapointed my mine... If anyone would like a "questionanable" LC-1, i'd be be more than happy to discuss a trade of sorts. |
E8 - Sensor timing error (typically a damaged sensor): 1. Sensor overheating.
E4 - Pump cell circuit shorted: 1. Damaged sensor cable or not fully seated cable. 2. Sensor heater calibration incorrect. E2 - Heater circuit open: 1. Damaged sensor cable or cable not fully seated. I used to get E8 on my LM - 1 when I did a WOT run. I cured it by buying the heat sink to go between the Bosch sensor and the exhaust bung. I have never had a problem since with the LM - 1 or LC - 1 . Well I have had a few ups and downs but managed to work them out. I think you are running too much fuel or too hot. I got these errors and my sensor was way back behind the STS turbo so I can only guess how hot and turbulent yours gets up front. I think my problem may have been too much fuel. 1.)Perform a sensor heater recalibration. 2.)Make sure your cable connection is fully seated. 3.)Perform a free air calibration. If you still have problems: 1.)Try moving the sensor just before the cats or further along the downpipe as far as 2 to 3 feet from the end of the tailpipe if you have no cats. 2.)Make your own heatsink or add a HBX-1 heatsink ($$)(worked for me!!). Good luck with it. It can be frustrating for sure when it is not working well and you are counting on it. Don't give up too soon, as my LC-1 has been working really well and plays great with EFILive. |
thanks for the help Mort. Its a year old and doesnt really have all that much time on it. I know Its been hot though as pre-turbo temps have been 1600ish a handful of times on extended WOT runs. Its located about 18 inches behind the turbo outlet in the downpipe, still in the engine compartment. The E8 error only occurs driving down the road (cruising) for extended periods for roughly 20 miles or so... it'll go to 20.9, hang up, then pop the error code. I've heard of these things eating sensors... I hope I didnt get one of those.
I cant afford to let a couple hundred dollar sensor wreck this build that I've spent thousands and thousands on. If something doesnt get resolved soon, PLX here I come... |
