Default Intake air temp

I have a 03 Z71 rcsb w/a 5.3l. I have only upgraded the exhaust and done a few free mods. I was wondering if anyone has wired resistance in line of the intake air temp sensor to trick it into believing it is a certain temp outside. For ex. making it think the intake air temp is 60deg outside at all times. If so what resistance did u use and how did u mesure? Any info would help.

The intake sensor is there to help not blow up your vehicle.Soften it up with programming instead. If the sensor is tricked at 60 degree's all the time, then when it is hot out the timing will not retard and cause the truck to knock -hurt pistons.

That is an EBay scam as old as EBay itself. Tricking the PCM is not your job, it's Jet Performance Product's job.

The people that you heard this "mod" from might also try to talk you into removing the screen from your MAF sensor - do not do that.

Also avoid so-called "cold-air induction" kits that have an element open to the engine bay. It's hot in there. better to have slightly restricted ambient air than free-flowing blazing hot air.

There's a tone more stuff like this. Maybe some more suggestions of what not to do will follow...
