IGN 0 fuse blowing and Instrument panel issues
I'm working on my son's 99 silverado and the issue i'm chasing started with the cluster not working. I connected the tech2 but could not get it to communicate with the cluster module unless I was pressing the trip reset button.
After some research I found that the IGN 0 fuse was burnt so I replaced it and it instantly burnt again. I pulled the wiring diagrams and found that this fuse feeds 3 items on the truck, tans, cluster and PCM. I had originally found some trans codes sored so I started there. I pulled the trans plug and installed the fuse again and it didn't blow and the cluster started working so I've isolated it to the trans.
I'll be pulling the pan off and checking the harness and solenoids to see if I can find the short.
Anyone here ever had to chase something like this and if so what did you find?
thanks Neal
