Default Going price for dyno tune?

Ill be setting up a P1SC soon at my truck. Got a quote from my current tuner to do a dyno tune. Seemed high. Just wanted to see what most are paying for a solid dyno tune. Thanks.

around $ 400 give or take a few dollars, for a very experienced tuner...with free updates for gearing, tire size changes...

just FYI, i gained 0.4 seconds in the 1/8th going from a mail order to a real dyno tune from an experianced tuner!

The guy that has done my tuning has allot of knowledge, but he is more into the f-body and vette market. I had him do a street tune, which was great. He charged 300 for that. The dyno he quoted was 450, which is a deal because he did the street tune already. Otherwise it would be 575 for the tune and another 175 for the power adder. So he quoted me 450 for the dyno tune, which was 300 less for the street tune he already did.

Bolt on cars/truck start at around $250 around here full tunes for head/cam or boosted applications will be $450-550+tax here in NJ, before I learned the whole tuning thing on my own I was tuned by a reputable shop here in NJ for that $550+tax.

keep in mind, it may take 3-6 hours to get it right, maybe more...depends on how your PCM responds.

i had some kind of gliche with my 07 PCM and my tuner had to email my file to HPtuner site and wait for it to get back... it wouldnt let him command the AFR at WOT where i needed it for the nitrous...

just reserve the better part of a day and best of luck to you man.

tunes make nite and day difference, especially with street manners and driveability.
