Default Front O2 Sensor warm up time

I got tired of searching, how long should it take?

I did a scan tonight and it took about 2-1/2 minutes before the oxygen sensors started switching. They seem to operate normally once warmed up. I had them out along with the engine, for about five months. They were in sealed ziploc bags on the front seat of the truck.

If they are bad, isn't it odd that they both started switching at the same time?

What is my next diagnostic step?

The o2s should switch even if they havent warned up yet, they are just being ignored until you go into closed loop...

They are also slower to warm up with long tube headers and no cats. You don't need them, get rid of them.

Couple minutes. Most of the time closed loop is enabled at about 130F coolant temp. They are not always switching before that, bit can be depending how they are set. Keep the 02s installed and working, they add a great deal of stability to the engine and let you know if you have problems.

I have done cold start logs but not for a long time. I didn't remember it taking so long. I never had intentions of deleting them, I'm sure Pat was just messing with me. Besides, if the PCM wasn't using the O2s to keep the engine stoich during everyday driving, the only part of my tune that would be spot on is the shift points!

I prefer semi open loop.

Holley's system with wideband o2 full time fueling including wot is ideal.

I fantasize about getting the Holley. I am anxious to see how Dr. X's project does. I would have to sell my truck to be able to afford it. Something seems wrong with that plan, I will have to think about it.
