Unhappy Fog Lights Suddenly don't Work!

Ok, let me start from the beginning.

I was coming home from vacation over the weekend and my son was watching a dvd via one of those walmart units that plugs into the cig lighter. It suddenly shut off. I determined it to be a blown fuse and chose to replace it the next day in daylight.

The Next day, I found the blown fuse and replaced it (under hood). Everything is good. Kid is happy & Everyone is happy.

Then, that night, I noticed my fog lights weren't working (BTW--they are factory installed). I figured it was just another fuse. I checked the fuse location which happened to be the next fuse down from the cig fuse. It was good and doesn't need to be replace, so I figured the relay was bad. I went to my local store and purchased a new relay for about $15. Installed it and no luck with that. The auto parts store suggested my switch was bad, but it just doesn't seem like that would be the problem. (They don't carry it, so probly a stealership only item {& EBAY}.)

Am I missing something? Has anyone else had this problem?

I use my foggs every day when it gets dark or rains. I have driven around with one blown before, so that debunks the "if one is blown they don't work" concept.

HELP!!!!

Yah know, I kinda started to think about that also. My head lights still work and so do my brights, but when there is no key in the ign and you turn the lights on, the ding ding ding **** doesn't happen.

Sound familiar??

Lookin on ebay and see all the switches that look just like mine. I was kinda wondering, do ya think the 2005 + switch would work? My lights are the auto on, but I don't have the availability to turn them off. Would be nice if I could buy the newer switch and have the ability to turn them off.

Do you think it would work??

I think I remember reading that it won't work, but I'm not 100% sure.

hey man, do you have the Dome Override button below and to the left of the headlight switch? IF so try pressing that button 4 times, i know it works on mine and up to 02s. When pressing the button 4 times it turns the Automatic lights off.

The problem isn't with the automatic lights. It's with the fog lights.

Also, I obtained a switch from the junk yard and it didn't fix the problem. I also ran the switch through some paces to make sure they switches weren't bad. Such as marker lights only and then headlights on.

I guess I am going to have to take it to the stealership here in Ocean Springs for $70/hr run down to find out what is wrong.

The wife and I were talking about trading it in on a new(er) truck, but I am so picky. The new one will be a 2500 w/6.6 diesel, and it has to be crew with 4x4 & leather.

Thanx!
