electrical problems on LS engine swap

Advice needed please. I have a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a 4.3L. I swapped it out for 2005 6L LS engine using a 2000 Chevrolet Yukon wiring harness. I got everything hooked up and as soon as I hook the battery connection up, it winds over. Like the solenoid wire is live unless I shift it into drive. I play with the shifter and no fuel or spark. The left front headlight seems to be flickering. All the dash lights work. Any ideas?

The 2000 harness is a lot different than a 2003+ harness that normally would be used because the fuse blocks have different wiring to them.

Should I have used an 03 harness the reason I went with the older harness is because my 06 truck has drive by cable throttle body and a 2 plug neutral safety switch on the 4l60e tranny what do u suggest please and thanks

Yeah the 2000 harness is different than the 03+ harness. I was just the opposite trying to use a 2005 engine and harness in my 2000 v6 Sierra. I emailed Brendan over at LT1swap and this was his reply.

Its possible to make what you have work, but can’t even begin to explain pin for pin what needs done. Basically the starter circuits are completely different (includes wiring for park neutral position switch), there are wires for cruise control that need moved around. Wire location for power circuits may need moved. Wouldn’t know without side by side comparison.

Your best bet (after you locate a 2003+ harness) is to switch over to a drive by wire setup using an electronic throttle body, TAC module and accelerator pedal. You could still use the cable system but you'll need an ECM that has the IAC (idle air control) chip inside plus you'll have to run an IAC plug and wires to the harness plug.

On the 03+ ECM to run a cable drive throttle you must have the IAC chip pins in the top left corner (not just solder points as shown in the second pic)
