elec fan tune

might be a stupid questionk, but if i get a tune for my ls1 fans but have to wait a week till i can install the fans will the belt driven fan still work?

twister4399 06-28-2006 07:05 PM

Yes. Mine right now is tuned and ready to go for the e-fans. I just dont have the harness yet.

TIM Z 06-28-2006 07:13 PM

yep, all of nelsons tunes have the e-fans turned on already, i just installed the e-0fans and harness and they turned on! great mod IMO.

Wheatley 06-28-2006 08:44 PM

Yes it will work just fine

stone150 07-06-2006 11:56 PM

ok nother question

so the fan and thermostat are all a mechanical heat tye of deal, no electrical involved, so if i get a tune with ls1 fans and a 180 stat it woun't affect my truck at all till i actually switch them out?

correct

who doesn't? it won't matter regardless, when the fan turn on temp is reached the PCM grounds a non-existant pin, won't hurt anything. Once the harness is installed the pin will then exist. For all custom tunes there is no reason to not have the fans turned on, it's like having provisions for future mods and saves everyone the trouble later.

clutch fan is totally mechanical. the purpose of the 180* stat is to be able to run more timing without detonating, the truck won't cool any different and may have some slight knock retard (assuming the tune is good) until you get the stat in, but I doubt you'll notice much difference
