Turns out my PCM was locked by my last tuner. Shop is shuttered and the tuner actually passed away in a tragic accident. Any how, I can either send off my pcm to be unlocked or snag one. Anyone used an eBay pcm from spareecm? $100 shipped.


My ride is a 2003 ss.

Make sure the software/is matches, or you'll have you go to the dealer to get the correct one flashed into it

They say they program the vin. Not sure about the os. But you're right I may have to use a dealer or maybe my tuner can take care of it.

It ask starts with the right pcm. Dbw and dbc pcms and behave weird in incorrect applications. So having the right year and vehicle pcm along with os is critical

Why don't you talk to your new tuner and see if he can just set you up with a new pcm with his tune on it. If he's worth anything as a tuner, then he should be able too. If he can't, then I'd probably look for a new tuner, lol.

Looking at the details of the eBay description seems to indicate they use GM software to program updated Os and the pcm is for a 2003 Silverado.

KB, new tuner might be able to do that, but they dont do mail order stuff so far as I know and don't keep Pcm's on hand. We were going to street tune and then get it on the dyno.

We talked about how to get it unlocked but left it at that. All else fails I can send the eBay one to a reputable mail order place, and send mine to be unlocked later.

Thanks for for the suggestions. Still wondering if anyone has used one.
