Default Dyno tune question

Can you do a proper dyno tune without wideband hooked up?

Hardly.

I wouldn't even try it nor would I let the tuner/dyno operator do it without a wideband.

Would they be able to put the wideband in the tail pipe and get the same readings or is that too far back? I’m only asking because I got a tune done at a shop and I was thinking about it this morning and when I put my headers and ORY I didn’t install a bung for the wideband, so I’m wondering if there was a way to do it without. Apparently I got screwed. Live and learn I suppose, I purchased HP tuners and have been playing around with it for a few weeks and I’m getting a wideband set up so I can take some readings and see what it is doing at WOT.

Any competent dyno shop should be able to do that.

I know the shop was plenty capable, I am just thinking they might have half assed mine.

they can put a sniffer in the tail pipe. Not as accurate as a bunged install however.

I will be installing a bung and an AEM wideband. If things aren’t up to par maybe with a little help I can get it fixed up.

The AEM wideband comes with a bung.
I was lucky my crossover pipe already had one welded in.
