Default Code U1096 - Loss of Communications with IPC?

I have this code U1096 - Loss of Communications with IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster)

I think it's because I was doing some gauge cluster work and ran the truck without the cluster for probably 4-5 starts and one 5 minute drive. I put the cluster back in this morning and drove 20 mins to work. I cleared the code with EFILive but it comes back instantly. The cluster works perfectly fine. Not sure if anyone has gotten this code before, but will it go away on its own? Or perhaps I damaged the cluster while it was out? I was gently with it though. Might unhook the battery today for a few hours to see if that helps.

Thanks!

Unhook the battery and then touch the positive and negative cables together and then hook the cables back up correctly. This should clear code no problem. Having the cluster out is what caused the code to appear it takes several complete drive cycles for the code to go away on it's own. If it doesn't go away then give it a few days of normal driving and it should.
