Default A/C blows inconsistently

2006 D-max in my sig. When I run the A/C in Auto mode, sometimes I have to set it to 72 to be comfortable, sometimes I have to set it as high as 88 to get the a/c to stop blowing ridiculously cold. I took it off auto mode yesterday and had the temp set to 60 and the fan on as low as possible, and after a few minutes the fan speed seemed to increase without me touching anything. I have already replaced the interior temp sensor in the headliner above my head, but that didn't fix anything. Any other ideas on what to try?

Has the resistor been changed? Has the resistor harness been changed?

Nothing has been changed except for the temp sensor in the headliner.

I had blower motor speed fluctuation with a bad blower resistor. Replaced harness and resistor it went away. If you unplug it (passenger side near blower motor) and the harness is burnt its time for new one it also will take out the blower motor if not changed. Also blend door actuator might not be functioning right with dash hvac control. Never dealt with that system. Hope this helps out. Good to see your still alive

Does his posting here really mean he's alive or that someone's just logged onto a dead account and is using his SN?

Mine does something similar with the heater. Have to keep turning the temp up and up, and then finally hit like 88 degrees like you said, and it blasts you with furnace air. Haven't noticed it with the AC. Never really bothered me so I just left it.
