Default BP automotive 99-02 pressure switch kit for ac fans

Anyone else running this? This is supposedly a kit so the electric fans run correctly based off pressure lines for us 99-02 guys. 3 wire hook up...

1 wire to blue connector # 49
1 wire to blue connector # 8
1 wire to red connector # 14

fans work fine based on coolant temp. I can command them on with HPT. I sit and leave my truck running with ac on and never see fans turn on. BP said they can’t help with tuning unless I want to pay them to do it, and their wiring to pin locations arent making much sense to me as for what they’re doing.

All the “command on” pressures were adjusted to be the same as a 98-02 camaro.

Anyone?

I was looking at their site and I see the same basic instructions I see on every other company.

The Green wire will go to Blue Connector Cavity 42
Blue wire will go to Red/Green connector Cavity 33. Some applications will already have a wire in Red/Green 33. This wire will no longer be used, pull it out and seal the wire off.

If you have some other directions please share.

The early trucks do not have a pressure sensor installed, so there is nothing to tap in to, that's why there is 1 control based on coolant temp and the other based on AC clutch engagement.

I guess I should have been more specific. I purchased their fan wiring harness kit, and ALSO their supposed retrofit kit which adds a pressure sensor in the ac lines for fan control, when ac is on based on line pressure. According to BP the kit does away with on/off just with the clutch and used strict pressure from their add on pressure sensor. I had a feeling I was a guinea pig with this as I’ve seen nobody with it. See link:

This thread will interest you, https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...ontrol-553385/

But the OP there hadn't completely worked through the setup of it. Still a lot of good info, possibly the only good info out there on this subject.

Interesting. In that case you will need to do a write entire to a 2002 OS that has both the ECT and AC controls.

I don't have anything useful to add to this yet, but my 2002 Speed Density OS wants to see AC pressure to enable fan2. I don't think my tuner and I ever sorted that out, and my truck just cruises around with the one fan kicking.

If you reconfigure it so that the PCM controls two fans on low or two fans on high for the engine temperature, and two fans on high operated by the A/C clutch, the A/C works so much better when you are sitting still in traffic. I got the wiring diagram on how to do it from this forum.
