Best alternator choice?

Hey all
I have a 99 RCSB with the 4.8 and the stock alternator took a crap .
I was wondering of there was an oem upgrade or solid aftermaket high putput replacement I can get that will work with my stock set up as well as my future 6.0 suoercharge setup.
Thanks !

New stock ones work as good as anything.

My local napa sells new ones with lifetime warranties as well as rebuilt units with the same warranty.

I'm thinking I would need something a little more than the 103amps the stock one has those since I want to run HID light, electric fans and a small stereo system .Even with the "big 3" upgrade I don't think the stock 103 would be efficient enough?

No, that alternator won't keep up. Both my trucks came with 145a alternator since they have electric fans factory. I upgraded one truck to a 185a unit from DC

If you have the 10x amp one now, just get the 145 amp at the parts store.

It's for RPO KG3. Tell em you have that, you'll get the bigger one. Bolts RIGHT UP and plugs RIGHT IN. Calls for a slightly longer belt; your existing one might fit, but if you need one anyway, just get the one that goes with that option.

You don't need to list HID lights when you are calculating your electrical load. At 35 watts each, that is only 5 amps total.
I set my 10(5?) on fire because of the amp draw of my electric fans. A 145 is fine, though.

This Is exactally what you need.

You might need to tell them it's an SUV with that RPO code. Needs to be 2000-2004 with a 4 pin plug. In 05 they went to a 2 pin plug that is different.

You can some sometimes stretch a worn belt and it will barely fit. IMO just replace it with the correct one.
