'99 Tahoe VATS/PASSLOCK the same ?

Default '99 Tahoe VATS/PASSLOCK the same ?
My wifes '99 Tahoe has a Passlock issue due to a worn key . Replaced the key & did the key on 10 min. off 10 min. on 3 X & it started rt up .Til the next day & it is back . Can I disable the VATS which I believe is also the PASSLOCK & be done with this problem ?

Yes it is the same,I disabled the VATS thru HP Tuners & all is good ,starts & runs fine !
