~~6.0L 5 speed swap complete. Getting REP error over 5500 RPM and tons of SES Lights

The tune is getting better and better on my 6.0L swap. However now that I want to start doing some WOT runs, I'm getting a Reduced Engine Power on the DIC when I hit 5600 RPM and have to reset the PCM. Pissin' me off and I can't find this problem anywhere in the tune (see attached). Does this sound like a grounding issue to you guys? Here's a screen shot of the DTC's and please feel free to peek at what I've done on my tune so far. Why can't I rev past 5600 RPM? This thing would haul some pretty decent ass if I could get it up there. Does this sound like an improperly hooked up ground? BTW the tune is attached under the image so you can take a look at my tune.

Maybe try to do a case learn in the scanner if you haven't already. It re-sinks a new crankshaft reluctor with the computer. Its under the VCM Controls and the help section will tell you how to do it I believe.
If that isn't it, detonation will do it. I've had mine go into REP on long hills on the interstate with very minor knock but constant.

It only goes into REP @ 5600 RPM though. And do the front wheel sensor codes have anything to do with it? Truck never had the codes until after the swap.

ALSO FWIW when I go into Reduced Engine Power mode, the RPM's fall and then hang at 3,000 RPM's. They will not calm down under that or go above it. I have to shut the truck off at that point. Sometimes even resetting the DTC's while driving won't even clear it. Truck runs strong as hell up to 5600 RPM anyways before REP. Someone has to know what's going on here. Please take a look at the attached tune and tell me if there's something I'm missing. I'm tired now and going to bed. I want to have this solved by the end of the day tomorrow.

Are you running open or closed loop? Maf or noMaf? Have you tuned/adjusted the VE and MAF tables?

hirdlej 08-10-2008 11:44 PM

Running closed loop - Speed Density, no MAF, and the VE table has been reworked extensively tonight. I wanted to get some STFT's up past 5500RPM's and this is when I discovered what was happening.

was the P0103 the only engine code you were getting....

Yes, the rest appear to be BCM codes. I have a theory but I may be wayyyy off. I am wondering if the BCM takes priority over the PCM and if it's not getting a signal from the braking components, would this render my commanded settings useless and allow a maximum RPM of 5600 as per the factory default? Also I saw the ABS light come on once after reflashing the PCM. I'm wondering if something buggy is going on with the grounds. It may be due to the fact that I repainted the 6L before installing it and some of the bolt holes have some paint in them? Just how sensitive are these things to having a solid ground?

charcold-bowtie 08-11-2008 12:06 AM

i would say pretty sensitive. Ive seen a lot of motor swap threads were trucks blinkers were going weird, wont start. Shakes like a know. All because of ground, I would think a BCM type of problem would yield the same type of results but im NOT sure.

BlackGMC 08-11-2008 12:09 AM

I would say the grounds are really sensitive.... I would check them all if you can...
