5.3 emc on 4.8 iv gen
Need some help guys. Have an 2008 tahoe with a 4.8 non-vvt non-dod i think the ecm going bad. Can I test ecm from my 2008 5.3 sierra with dod on my tahoe?

No,
Not without writing a 4.8 file into that 5.3 computer.
For one you'd have a security system fault straight away because the VIN and operating system doesn't match anything in your truck and that fact that the 5.3 in that year does have DoD but your 4.8 does not. So the computer would be going nuts just trying to figure out if it could run without DoD parts and proper codes disabled.
