Default 4l80e segmented OS?

Guys, looks like I'm heading down the 80e path. Starting to plan and looking into the tune. Course I'm gonna need an 80e segment in the tune.

My first thoughts were to have the segment swapped into my current OS which is an SD patched 03 OS original to my truck. I've just tuned it to the new 6.0L etc...

It looks like a segment swap can't be done to it, or so I'm being told by those that know how. What do I do? Do I just get like an 03 2500hd, DBW, Autotrac OS, apply the SD to it and then swap my current tune stuff to it? Course then I'd have to pay to liscense it again but no big deal.

If your using HPT than you will only need to go to the HPT forum and look for a member called EC_Tune he has done them before.

When I did mine. I got a file from a truck with the same yr PCM and liscensed the new file. After that you will just have to copy the rest of the tables over to the new file. But I wouldn't do that again just let EC_Tune do it for yea free of charge.

im using EFI Live and it was easy.. just find a tune with the same year model and 80E.. and just copied my Engine Segment over and adjusted the usualy stuff with the trans..

But ive only seen HP tuners once so i dunno how to help you..

Dont forget this thread that i worked so hard with to save a nice chunk of change on the wiring..

Yes he is the guru!. I know its a simple task with stock tunes. Its the custom OS that has me worried and maybe screwed.

Already have a tune from the repository, applied the SD to it, and in process of copying over my current settings. Agree the segment swap is the way to go if I can.

I've already printed the wiring harness mod doc and filed away on the work bench Great work with that!

I looked up that OS on efi live respository and it applies to a 03" 6.0 80E, but it also applies to 03 5.3 60E tune.... http://www.holdencrazy.com/EFILive/stockTunes.php

Well ain't that a hoot. Yeah I just checked my current OS. 12579405. Now how the heck can I verify one has the 80e segment in it (all I have is the vehicle description to verify) and makes me think that you should be able to do a segment swap.
