Default 4.8 dyno tune?

A friend of mine has a 4.8 2006 Chevy pickup. He was thinking about getting it dyno tuned. Does anyone ever see any gains from this or know anyone who has? This truck just has a muffler and is stock down to the paper filter. Hes not looking to run the truck on premium just see if there is anything to gain. Im familiar with the LS1 crowd and know that tuning even on a stock motor shows gains but unfamiliar with the 5.3 and 4.8. I appreciate the info!

For a basically stock truck I'd say street tune it since you don't drive on the dyno; the lower and mid levels are where its at.
