P0336 is for the Crankshaft Position Sensor if I remember right, yes that could cause it to go into a limp mode. Never had or seen one go bad on anything I have owned or tuned but I'd think that could cause the vehicle to go into a REP.

Yes a faulty CKP sensor would cause the truck to go into limp mode. I'd be surprised if you could even get it to start.

P0336 means that the Cam Position Sensor has recorded 4 revolutions without signal from the CKP.

So it should do it almost instantaneous after the truck is started, not after its up to running temp?

If it's an intermittent problem, it may happen right away or after it gets heated up. A dead CKP will keep the truck from starting.

You may have a bad wire, or a bad sensor. Easiest fix is to replace the sensor.
