ok maybe someone who actually knows(i have no clue!)
i have a 2008 5.3L with 799 heads. im doing a DBC 90mm TB with a nelson harness. they make their harnesses for the 99-02 engines which uses a knock sensor valley cover. im using an 02 ECM on this also. the tranny is an 06 4L60E.
now heres my question. do i have to change the valley cover to the older style then change lifters so it isnt using the DOD lifters anymore since im using an older ECM and harness? can i just leave it how it is and tune the knock sensors out? the motor doesnt have them anyways so i should be ok without adding them right? please help, ive sunk a lot of money into this swap and id never get it back. so to keep from spending money on parts that i dont need, please help.

 

Are you putting this setup into the '94? Or is this for your '08?

my 08 is on a stand still till this is done, then KBracing, here i come!

i just found out the 08 GenIV has knock sensors on the outside of the block. if i was to just get the Nelson harness knock sensor wires longer so they reach my knock sensors then plug them up like normal. ill be able to leave the valley cover and lifters alone right?
i have the injector pig tails and some other pig tails for the sensors on the motor that i could probably send to Nelson and have them wire them up the right way vs me splicing my pig tails in.

 

What are you going to do about the crank and cam sensors not being correct for the earlier harness and PCM?

 

yeah, the 08 block use's 58 tooth reluctor on the crank the 02 PCM your going to use is for a 24 tooth
Or did you change out the 58 tooth for the 24 tooth?
