6-11-06 - Took trip to the mountain, truck got 23.68mpg driving UP the mountain with a/c on full blast. 25MPG should be NO probelm.

2002 4.8L 5-speed RCSB with 76,000 miles. Truck has a lot of money tied up in it.
new clutch, pressure plate, TOB, slave cylinder and efans, since Jan 1st.

what kind of clutch did you put it in?

I put in a gm replacement clutch. The clutch that was in it was fine, but had a noisy throw out bearing, and i didn't see pulling the tranny just to replace the TOB, so i went ahead and got another clutch too. But when i first crunk it up and let off the clutch, it started roaring again. My dad has a 2005 4.8 5-speed and with only 7,000 miles on it, his did the same thing. I originally replaced it with a valeo clutch kit, but it kept popping slave cylinders.
