I asked in that section because thats were parts are being sold.and judging by the posts every dont go to truck style section. parts ,internal enginge and force induction get the most hits.

88-01 is gmt400
99-07 is gmt800
07-13 is gmt900
14+ is gmt1000

its stamped on body parts this way and how they are referred to by ppl outside of the internet

prior to 88 they werent labeld and referred to as square body then the classics

Maybe but he was specifically asking about the nick names of them such as NBS etc. While this terminology is not correct as per GM I know you are well aware it's commonly used online. Where it started, who knows.

Pretty sure it started because the 99+ body style was the first new body style to come out since the internet started and fanboys needed a way to differentiate their trucks quickly. Nowadays most people are foruming from their phones so saying "nbs" or nnbs is at least 2 characters quicker than typing out gmt800/900

It took me weeks before I figured out what nbs and nnbs meant lol
