So I'm wondering, didn't u change your rear gear when goin from N/A to Maggie? Or stall? In other words, other than what it took to make the blower run smooth, did u change out anything that would've offset the potential gains from goin boosted?

If it's not running right, as my truck isn't, ya, I wanna add more power, but I 1st gotta find what's up w/ my truck. Can u actually run w/ any of the local trucks? I'm guessing not.
Yes the first stall I would get to hot. One pass it gained 87 degrees in temp. Those days when we went to lapeer drag way I'd have to shut it down after 3 passes at 220 degrees trans temp. Shoot I could even make it to Woodward dream cruise without overheating with that loose converter. I changed to the Yank SC3000 hoping it being tighter it would stop overheating. Which it did but that's when I started with trans issues / slipping shuttering when converter locked up.

I did change to 3.42 gears from the 3.73 set when I rebuilt my eaton LSD clutch packs with heavier springs. The truck was eating the fuel on eway- that's why I switched back - hoping to use it for my trips to school the next couple years.

I expected a lot more out of it. That's trans and converter cost $$$$ I should've went 80e I know but the truck was never meant to be boosted when I built it first. I've been just cobbling things together it feels like.

If I do this 80e I know first gear will be taller which **** with the 3.42 first to second might be around 65mph wow agh idk

Yes 1st is taller and you are going to feel those 3.42's more, that's the downside to a 80. You can get different gear sets for them but your gonna spend some money then. If you push enough power its a non issue, but its all relative. Do you have a good trans cooler?

When I did the addition of the blower I bypassed radiator cooler straight to a 36,000 gvw 2 row trans cooler with a 650cfm pusher fan

Bypass radiator good or bad idea? I'm not really sure. Looking back at it I may have lost some stability right there

The 80e I have came with a new 3000 stall (Texas speeds converter / forgot name of it)

Your trans temps are getting too high.

We have a local track that runs 1/8m grudge races and I've hot lapped 12+ times in a hr period never shutting the truck off and temps stayed under 175 on a 80 deg day. Running through rad and I have a true cool 40k cooler.

So it looks like I'll be going back into radiator then to aux cooler.

Thanks for all the inputs everybody.

The wife has talked me out of selling the truck a couple of times now.

The truck was originally built for n/a and ran great

80e needs a lot of power to turn over to the point where truck will feel peppy compared to 60e.

You may be expecting a bit much from the very mild setup.

I agree with Michael. I will say though at 8 psi he should have noticed a very nice gain. I think the gears hurt you more than you think and I agree that your trans is running too hot.

what does your 36k cooler look like? Maybe you need a better cooler.

When I built the truck I stuck with 60e knowing 80e takes more power to run never thinking I would be this deep into the truck adding more stuff.

Thinking the 80e and boosting up to make up for loss in power. Yes the gears are going to hurt me more with 80e- good thing is I still have the gear set so I can switch back if needed.

For the cooler I bought it off summit racing. It originally was going under truck seeing the double CTS-v heat-exchangers take up so much room in front of radiator- that's why I went with pusher fan ( derale electra-cool remote cooler 13900 ). I wanted to run the tru - cool but couldn't find a good spot where it wouldnt pick up rocks up front being so low. I can add a picture in a while
