silverado making clicking noise?

my 2000 silverado been making this clicking noise and it is geting worse, we checked my drive shaft and replace the universal join in the front of the drive shaft and its still doing it, it seems like it dont do it until you go atleast 40 and starts clicking and when you slow down the clicking start slowing down and will keep doing it until put in park some times, and when you going fast it sounds like it clicking soo fast its rattling, we checked my tire it not the berring, but the noise sounds like from the front, does anyone have any ideas were to look or what it could be, thanks matt

how do i know if it is or not? could it be my shaft in the front of my truck, if i put my truck in nutrel it still makes a clicking noise, but sometimes it sounds worse then differant times, but the clickin noise will click at differant speeds depending how fast your going

motormanimatt Aug 26, 2009 11:38 PM

i dont think its that it only does it when your moving

did you just respond to yourself

motormanimatt Aug 26, 2009 11:42 PM

i dont think its the flexplate cause it will only make the clicking noise if the truck is moving, evan if its in nutrel, but its sounds like it clicking when you going slow, then it sounds like its rattling when you driving fast, could it be the unversal join in the front of the truck?

GMCtrk Aug 26, 2009 11:44 PM

If it does it in neutral it's the flexplate. If it does it when you are sitting still it can't be a joint because it's not moving.

no if you going down the road and you are rolling and you throw it in nutrel while moving it still makes the clicking noise, sorry my bad
