Nobody said anything about their track times.. theres a 100hp and 100ftlb difference between the two. kinda ashamed that the Ford put out more with a smaller engine. but thats why i stick to old pickup trucks

 

correct term should of been 5.8 s/c vs 6.2 s/c. The ZL1 is a great peice of work, the 6.2 is basically a 15 year old push rod engine design with some tweaks here and there, the 5.8 is a brand new ground up quad cam v8. I think Gm is doing pretty damn good with it

 

5.8 just dawned on me... whats their cubes?
bet ya they did that since all the older 351 stuff was so popular.

 

Whats there exact cubes? Im not really sure to be honest, alot of people tend to think the gt500 is a 5.0 s/c, so they thing its some crazy out of this world engine, which its not, its impressive yest, but nothing any other company couldnt have accomplished. going with a 5.8 is like when gm made the first ls a 5.7, its what people are familiar with which makes them more likely to buy

 

shelby has a tvs2300@15psi and ZL1 has a tvs1900@9lbs, theres your difference

Wow didnt know that. Thats crazy. Imagine the 6.2 with a 2300 @ 15psi vs the 5.8 with a 1900 at 9psi.
