Reluctor Tool- Want to Rent/Buy
#21
I am convinced, and nothing will change my opinion otherwise that my wheel is installed 180° wrong/indexed wrong or has excessive run out
Nothing else explains why RPM signal drops to 0 on the tech2, 4 cylinders aren't hitting and the car won't start with the cam sensor unplugged
I've done every check the FSM says to do, I've pinned every wire, I've swapped sensors. At this point my only remaining thought is the reluctor is wrong

Where did the crank come from?

Bottom end is from Texas Speed. They installed and welded the reluctor on as well. The bottom end is their "house brand" rods/crank and wiseco pistons in a gen4 block
I had a shop here in Abq put the bottom end together, Empire Engines. They are pretty good and well respected. I did the top end and install in the car
None of us thought to check or inspect the reluctor. They balanced and machined and gapped, and I trusted them, they trusted TSP and here we are

Texas Speed wants $250 + shipping both ways to fix what is potentially their **** up
Empire does not have a tool
and at this point I am fed up relying on ppl, so I am just going it myself. Then I only have 1 finger to blame if I get it wrong ahaha

Is this a 24 or 58 wheel?
When are you planning to pull the engine?

I have requested and been approved for 2wks off in June, calendar days 10-28; I plan to do the reluctor inspection/swap then. With covid delays and **** I want to have everything ready to go before then however

only the wheel gets heated, so a stainless spacer would work well to protect the plastic. Do you print ABS or PLA? or some other "alloy"?
SolidWorks has a $10/mo hobby license, but it doesn't work with Windows 11 yet. I have SW '08 on my college machine, with some work-arounds. That's how I'll draw everything up.
