Default rc jet boat project

Thought you guys might enjoy this..

Well ive always been into the rc hobby world and had a nitro truck and a nitro boat. Those were fun but wanted something different.

So i came across this little guy. On the rc boat forums guys were taking a cheap $40 jet drive boat and modding them to make em fast and alot more fun. So i followed.

Heres what i have

Specs: Traxxas radio, receiver, servo. Ebay KV 3700 Brushless Motor & 35A ESC. Modded jet drive, no intake grate and bushing mod. Turnigy 11.1v lipo battery.
Water lines are hooked up but were for old water cooled motor setup (no watercooling on this setup).

pics of my setup-

No video yet of mine, but to give you an idea of what they can do- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv-cwZ8GGaY

Mine is just about that fast.

They dont come out of the box like that. Stock they are pathetic
But with a few inexpensive mods they can be quick

Surprisingly, if you do the weight and balance right it is almost impossible to roll over.. All it will do is skip across the water, dig in and take off like a rocket in whatever direction it lands in lol

$40 for stock boat, $17 for battery, $6 for charger, $20 for motor and esc, you can pick up used radios for $40 ( i used the one from my old nitro truck ), misc parts was about $15.

Id say for $150 you can have a fast *** boat that will whoop any walmart rc boat lol

That thing is nuts, makes me want to get one. There is a little stream near where I live that would be a blast to play with it in.

Yeah man its alot of fun! Very easy and simple little toys to mod.
Streams are no big deal, ive literally had mine in about 3inchs of water and it drove around just fine.
