If you're not DEFINITE on your narrowed down list, Singapore is the nicest place I've ever been to. I don't have pictures, but it's so clean that gum is illegal, cause it's too hard to clean up, and the F1 racers need special permission from the king to throw their tearaways on the track. Everyone seems to speak 4 languages there, and everyone I met was super nice.

I went to Europe for a month with a college buddy of mine in May of 2000. Believe it or not, Italy is pretty damn hot that time of year, almost unbearably so. Because we got tired of sweating in Italy, we hopped a train to Brindisi, at the heel of the boot of Italy, and took a ferry to the Greek island of Corfu. From Corfu town on the east side of the island, we took a bus to the west side. The entire island is a tourist island for Europeans in July and August, but at other times it is like a paradise lost with hardly any people, except for shopkeepers, hotel owners, etc.
We got a second floor hotel room literally a stone's throw from the Mediterranean. We had a balcony with two huge chairs that we sat and smoked some Cubans on. Even though the owner of the hotel was Greek, because they were used to catering to Germans, they served a full German breakfast consisting of bread & toast, cold cuts, jams & jellies, cheeses, soft boiled eggs, juice, coffee, and water.
A typical day went like this - get up at 8AM or so, go downstairs and sit under an umbrella at the foot of the Mediterranean, get served breakfast, get stuffed and tired, throw down a blanket on the beach, lay in the sun and fall asleep for an hour or so (all that eating makes you tired, you know...), get up, go swimming in the crystal-clear water of the Med, go back to the towel for nap number two, get up, go rent a scooter, drive around the island in our swim trunks, stop a the north side of the island (from where you can see Albania), dump the scooters and dive in the ocean (beautiful, clear, cool), get back on the scooters and resume our trip around the island, stop for a goat herder moving his goats across the road, stop by an Orthodox monastery for a minute, and get back to the hotel in time for lunch.
Did I happen to say that our hotel was $16/day, meals included?
