I'm going to redo my truck eventually, I'm thinking it will likely be hyper black
how does this stuff work between the bed and cab. can you ever see the original color in between there? i just saw that doing the storm cloud color is a little over 100 more than just going with anthracite. i think the 2:1 anthracite/aluminum will be really close to the storm cloud color. (and cheaper)

Well my truck was silver to begin with but you can reduce the size of the spray fan and shoot between the gap to make it less noticeable. How big is your truck? ECSB? RCSB? I had 2 gallons gunmetal and 3 gallons aluminum and only used 2 gallons of aluminum.

I just looked at their prices...aluminum/anthracite used to cost $15-20 more expensive /gallon than the normal stuff. $84 more expensive if you go with pearls granted you plan for 3 gallons of pearl.

Good luck, both are a pain to work with. White doesn't cover very well at all.

i painted the fender anthracite gray. it's an awesome color gray, but when you stand back it looks too black. when you walk up on it it looks great.

i put a stripe of silver across the anthracite gray. with anthracite across it.

then i did my best to do a 50/50 mix by spraying both cans at the same time. i like the 50/50 look. anthracite by itself is just too dark for my taste.

right side anthracite, left side 50/50 anthracite/aluminum the stripe down the middle is aluminum.

anthracite+clear on my charcoal gray silverado. the gray is almost identical but the lack of a real clear coat makes it look extremely dark due to the lack of reflection and depth.

the aluminum doesnt spray as well. it runs easier and shows stripes. the anthracite is almost impossible to screw up.

i went with a heavier coat of trying to get a 50/50 mix and striped it up...it's impossible to get an exact coolor spraying 2 cans at once, but i got a good enough look to know that if i plastidip the truck, it will be 50:50 mix instead of just anthracite like i originally planned.
