I'm back...Trip Report...
#1
Sorry I haven't checked in, but I've been getting settled in and enjoying life in the Great Northwest. Guess I'm finally back online.
In case you all are wondering how the trip went towing a rather large trailer (8X16 Enclosed) with a TT3000 for 3100 miles, I couldn't have been happier with the way things went. Well maybe except for the gas mileage (9 mpg) and hood damage (see below in addition to a big rock chip)
.
The truck performed flawlessly (and still is
). The highest my tranny temps got were 150 degrees towing the trailer w/jeep in the Appalachians and in the city here in Portland. It was too damn cold everywhere in between to even register on the guage. I think it was -10 when I left Omaha. So cold that the clearcoat and paint cracked on the hood.
I did stop at a some scales once I hit Oregon (dropped the Jeep in PA). Total weight was 12,540 lbs. A while back I had the truck weighed empty at 4920
, so that's 7620 lbs of trailer and cargo in the bed.
I'll have to upload a few photos, she wasn't sitting pretty, but handled just fine.
So, did I miss anything interesting the past month?
