Does anybody know about the smog laws in CA? When will I not have to smog it anymore?

You will always have to smog unless its a model year 1975 or earlier. It used to be a 30 year rules but they changed that a couple of years ago. Also all of the referee stations have been shut down because the great state of California has no money. To do a legal engine swap, you used to do what ever was needed for the swap and then it was certified by the referee. Now that the referees are gone, I'm not sure how people do engine swaps.
