How long did you wait to go back to school?

Well this question answered itself a year and some change later. Headed back to school Spring of '23. My work is sending me back and paying for most of it. I will be changing careers and looking for an Electrical Engineering degree. I will either move to a different position in my company or get a different job if the money is right. I will have a commitment here for a while or I have to pay back some of it. Like I said, if the money is right I can pay it back no issues.
I haven't taken a math class in about 4 years lol

I would use this time to look into what books you need, go ahead and buy them (used) and page through them at least.

Starting off at the community college and then will be going to University of Texas at Arlington. I may switch to University of North TX but most likely UTA.
I still will be working full time though. Going to try and do both although this upcoming semester I am starting off as a part time.

Cool. I went to UTA. I transferred too. Did Arch. undergrad and civil engineering for graduate degree. The engineering program is very good. Met some buddies that did EE, and still keep up with them. I graduated in 09, and the University has grown a lot since then.

Good choice going to CC first. That's what I did and it saved me a minimum of $20k. My Bachelor's degree says the name of my 4 year school anyway, no one can tell where I did my first 2 years.
Chegg.com was a HUGE money saver for books. And don't buy any books until AFTER your first day of class. Many professors will say, yea the course says you need XX book but we won't be using it.

Yeah I do not want to spend any more than needed. Last time I was in school I was fortunate enough to barely need any books, think I maybe spent $200 across 6 semesters?
I went to school for an associate's degree and I honestly can say I do not like what I do lol maybe if I was at a different place I would enjoy it more but right now I just don't. Computers blow hard. I only did it because it was between that or the military and I figured it would be easier to enter the military later if needed. I've also finally realized how to not be a retard at school and in life (for the most part) so there is that too. I wasted my high school years and probably my first two years of college in terms of school. Don't get me wrong both of them I had great grades but I never ever applied myself.
Electrical engineering should be interesting. I have two friends that will be massive helps, one with a master's in civil and one with a bachelor's in mechanical.

Welp, after changing from electrical engineering to construction management I’m done with school for now. New job is all travel and long days starting on Monday. I’ll check back in on this thread in a year or two and see it I start picking up classes by then lol
Think I got about 30 credits in 2 years? Not too bad but could have been better. Had a horrible time getting a schedule that worked for me one semester and then one class that kicked my *** all the way to Timbuktu
