I had a bitch American Bulldog. Great dogs, easliy trained. However, they are a bulldog. DO NOT let them do something the first time and expect to change it later, i.e. getting on the couch. Once they are allowed to do it, it will be very difficult to change them.
Run them hard. They are great for wrestling.
The only problem we had with ours was a skin condition that we could not figure out. We tried medications, special diet, bathing several times a week to bathing once a month.

yeah im trying to bring him up right....he's been on the couch but not much. he slept on the floor last night next to the bed and didnt make a peep. as long as he has something soft to lay on he'll sleep on the roof for all he cares haha.

i got a 6 month old american bulldog from a friend, i got rid of him 2 months later and he weighed about 85 pounds. i wish i could have kept him but i felt he needed more attention than i could give him due to work. i will get another one though

Yeah, He's gonna be a big boy. They usually get upwards of around 150-160 pounds I think. Beautiful though.
I got a half boxer/half american bulldog, he's about 8 or 9 months now and around 70 pounds.

You just need to make sure you leash train him and socialize him early. With my guy even at just 70 pounds if he gets to pulling, he can drag me across the yard and I'm not a small guy.
And he is extremely friendly to those we know, but he also runs this house. No one can get within 50 yards of our house without him knowing and letting us know.
