Now I have put BBK shorties on an LT1. That was a 16 hour, December in NY, in the driveway NIGHTMARE. Worst christmas present I ever bought myself.

It all depends on the brand. I never installed Pacesetters but Hookers took quit a bit a banging to fit. Dynatechs and the old FLPs go in really easy.

my pacesetters where a major pain as well, lol. I was driving down the road and hit a big bump and the driver side air tube fitting just snapped right off
It was a lot wasier taking them off, lol. I put the stock manifolds back on and the gutted cats.

That's what I hear, there are a few well designed headers that go right in I guess... apparently PaceSetters aren't one of them. LOL

LOLOLOLOLOL.....Headers on an ls1 fbody are a piece of cake. If you ever want to face a challenge try headers on an infinity g35. That job will make you invent new curse words.

I've put a bunch of sets on. I don't think they are too bad. But I have a lift and an extra set of hands too.

when i first got headers for my 99 z28, that was the 3rd mod i had ever bought, and i had
not enough tools to get it done right, manifolds were rusted to ****, that took 5 hours just gettin them off. the header took 2 days to put on.

since then ive done quite a few , and if all goes well. 5 hours max. hardest part is just holding them up with one hand and trying to start a bolt with the other

F-body...now you know what the F stands for.

Back in highschool my buddy had a 99+ V6 firebird and i helped him do a tune up with a target/walmart tool set.(one of those 30piece, cheapo sets)

I'll never own a 4th gen, i like them, but what a pita.

Didn't it only take 4 hours to put mine on? Well, we didn't hook up the exhaust because the o2 bungs were welded wrong. The guy that fabbed up my exhaust said he would never touch another F body again. The header install went pretty smooth though.
