ecoboost f150

so whos seen it and what is it gonna take to be faster? im not too worried, i think i a 5.3 with h/c/i will handle it. there rated at like 420lbs of torque but the 1/4 test i seen had a ecsb run like 14.6 at sea level. what are everyones opinions? hows gm gonna respond to this? mods feel free to move this wherever necessary

With a good tune and some meth I bet they'll run pretty damn good.

Buuuuut I'm sure a mild 5.3 could stay on par with it.

Kinda sad if you think about how GM is using engine technology almost 20 years old and is still out performing brand new technology:D

*FIXED*

The first pushrod Chevrolet small block was introduced in 1954 IIRC...On a side note the industry mocked GM in the 90's when they were developing the Gen3 Motor...LOL

What is the ecoboost ? ...I dont keep up with Ford

silverado2000 01-10-2011 11:01 PM

its a twin turbo v6 that makes 365hp and 420lbs and runs around a 14.6 stock. in a ext cab.

It's one of 4 new engines ford will be using in the half ton line up. A new V6, a 5.0 similar to the one in new stands, I believe some changes to it for more torque, such as diff cams, and exhaust manifolds. I could be wrong on the differences. They have the Eco boosted engine. And then there new 6.2, I have a feeling that these new engines from ford will run strong, but not strong enough! We will see

pretty sure that a stock untuned ecoboost V6 will spank to a mild 5.3 if not a 6.0 SS :D. Too bad you can't get one in a RCSB configuration.

Put an Ecoboost in a mustang and i'll be heading over to the ford dealership ....hello SVO

ummm how bout a 6.2? they seem to run 14's even in C/C form

Hahaaha idk about the 6.0 part. And its sad ford always has to boost their motors to keep up with gm's na motors! Hahaha oh well that's why they will always be second! As for this ecoboost. Kind of a bad idea if you think about it. A small motor with turbos trucks are about torque if you use them for a truck. Small motor with a turbo naw I will pass for a dmax if that's the case! Hahaha

the fords are heavy pigs

i think a 6.2 hybrid may be comparable, lol power and mpg
