Dump bed conversion?

Has anyone on here ever put a dump bed conversion on their truck?

I'm not talking about the dumps that fit in a pickup bed but, the ones that actually turn the truck bed into a dump.

I was thinking about one for a work truck(would be a 2500HD RCLB) The truck would mainly be used for carrying material to/from jobs and hauling trash outta some of the smaller jobs. A dump makes it a ton nicer than throwing crap out by hand. :D

Anyone used one and if so which brand? How did you like it? Any problems with them?

Thanks

dump bed

Yeah ive had one and worked on plenty ...The reality is the bed is just not sturdy enugh to handle the abuse in a year or more of use your besides will be loose and the floor will be warped and buckled .IF you are gonna use this as a work truck for a long time .You can buy a flatbed and dump kit for about 1400 or less then just build some standerds for the side for when you need to use it as a containment bed ts the best way or you can buy a dump bed for a little more

Yeah, I kinda figured that might be the case. Your idea is probably the best one to just get a flatbed and build some removal sides for it.

We have a stake body truck right now which does it's job great but, sometimes it would be great to get down in a parking garage or other tight area that it just won't go in.

I'll have to get a truck trader book and look around.

Thanks man

That's what I was thinking too. These beds can't handle much abuse.

you liked yours, i was completely disappointed with that thing... i took it off after like a week of landscaping

Next to a cold beer I think it is great.
Just back it up too where you want it.
Jump out, drop the gate and crank away.
Stuff is off the truck, job is done, time for a cold beer.

we have a 4500 with a lift gate. i back the truck up to the dumpster, flip the gate down to make a ramp to the dumpster and push everything off. no more pickin crap up. with the liftgate, you can fill up pallets with trash and use a pallet jack to get it on and off the liftgate. makes it so much faster.
