Well speaking of flower children how about a VW minibus?

Although you could use the FWD trans used in the new Malibu and Pontiac G8 and mount it in the back since the minibus is rear engine RWD. Just put a red velvet matress on top of the engine.

For that matter you could get a Corvair too.
