Default Any suggestions on how to find how many of a certain car were produced?

I'm trying to get production totals for my 2005 Monte Carlo SS. Several emails to Chevrolet have all ended in dead ends. I know that the F-body and GTO guys know they're production figures (down to exterior color, interior color, and even wheel options,) but for some reason the figures I'm looking for are "unavailable."

I know that someone somewhere knows how many were produced. Does anyone have any idea where to even start looking for this information? I'm interested in the production figures for the L67 SS Monte Carlos and Impalas from 2004-2005.

Go look! Dought. I really need XLR8NSS Avatar now. This works. See heres my thinkin. If you find out the plant made at, contact GM or that plant directly...??? Talk to a Plant Mgr or some production type. Maybe...A BIG MAYBE, they have some way to ballpark it. I don't know, sweet talk em. Somebody, somewhere has it...maybe. I mean, I know there's blackbooks, & whitebooks for Vettes or "F"s..but u might be out in the cold unless u contact whoever is responsible for that ****. That my friend is my only guess. Might be a stretch. While I wouldn't know where to look, if someone starts out w/ Zero & never tries. They still have "0". I know 89 c1500's never came w/ Impy SS LT1, but I have one. Where there's a will...Good luck

The year end edition of Specialty Equipment magazine (SEMA's publication) posts the production numbers for most of the foreign and domestic manufacturers. You'll have to contact someone from SEMA and coerce them to get you that info, but I'm pretty certain they'll have it.

Good luck.

Well, Chevrolet told me how many Monte Carlos were made in 2005, but they wouldn't break out the SS production. It was something like 37,000 in 2005.

Coerce. That's the eloquent word I was lookin for. Thanks Richard. Now, u got gears turning in my head. Also, I thought Crain's did that. Did GM ever hint on what they thought they'd make in relation to?...

i.e. Z06 production when they 1st came out were spoda be 20% of total build. Vette production avg.30,000 units -20% = 6000 total.
In subsequent yrs, they later kinda said as many as the people want, but they might've been that particular yr.( be it 02 or later) Z06 production. But Vette geeks know breakout like u stated. I can tell ya out of 01 how many Z06 were Speedway White...352 or 348. I can check, it's really close to that, but irrelevent.
