no, it wasn't the grey stuff. It was white and about 1/8 thick or so. It was at Home Depot if you have one nearby.

the white stuff was only rated at 2lbs i believe, never check home depot though

im not sure which spot your talking about but if you could find a spare one cheap then id put it in there and mount it up with some screws then when you get ready to get rid of the truck just swap the pieces out.

not gunna happen, heres a pic, its the hole to the left of the ash tray, and as you see it goes all the way across to the passenger door, thats 1 bigass piece I dont wanna have to deal with

yea that idea is not going to work. umm some people have a kit where they put their cell phone into their trucks and it mounts behind the dash bezel. you could take a look at one of them and try to make your own to mount it where you like. ill look and see if i can get a picture.

the question was not what type of mount to get, as I have looked at 10+ different types including what you sggested, but really just looking for adhesives =)

i know i was just trying to find you an alternate way of mounting it instead of using adhesive. if you want to use that then 3m is going to be your best bet.
