Default 2011 Ford F150 Competition?

I see the post on the ecoboost, but was curious about what you all thought about the new F150's with the six speed transmission and the 5.0. Are any of you all worried about the competition?

Bolt on trucks should be, but the fords are still going to be hampered by their heavy weight and expensive aftermarket parts. I see them bbeing like the tundras, fast stock and can be made even faster pretty easy with a blower but thats about all they will get so if youve got a 12 second truck youre pretty safe from getting outrun by any of them.

I test drove a CC 5.0 a few weeks ago. I have to agree with Cody. There is some potential there definitely, like the GM trucks factory tuning seems to be a lot left to be desired. But these trucks are huge fat pigs. You can almost feel how heavy they are when driving them. We'll see how they do, I imagine the aftermarket should take to the 5.0's pretty well, there wasn't **** on the aftermarket for the old 4.6-3V or the 5.4-3V V8's

That 5.0 makes good power on mods though. The pig of a truck it's in though...that isn't gonna help them.

Why would the Fords have expensive aftermkt. parts, more than the next brand? Unless u mean, compared to GM.

I think Tundras are butt ugly. They're fast in part due to gearing, both tranny & rear. Stick a 5A (Nissan Titan) or 6A in a GM & let's see how those Tundras fare. Besides, Tundras also had small rears of 3.90, the bigger ones were 4.30. Seems counter to how Yoda is gas friendly in its shitbox cars.

Also, they need 5.7 to push them around & multi-valves. If GM did that, it'd be game over. 4.8L & 5.3's get the job done pretty decent.
