Having spent what I spent on the 408, and dealing with all of the issues, including what I think is valve train noise now.... next motor is crate all the way. This is bullshit ahaha

I don’t see the obsession with a crate engine?
There is no warranty unless you allow a dealership or some sort of GM tech to install. If you change any piece, which 99% of us here will, then you void warranty and technically lose money.
I understand buying a brand new block but I don’t think I’d ever buy a crate engine unless the specs are absolutely perfect.

When you have enough money, new always seems better. However I know for a fact that GMPP products don't get the same rigorous quality control as the mass production lines, so your mileage may vary... My neighbor had a rod bearing take a **** in his new LS6/376 engine from GMPP. He meticulously documented oil quality before it happened though, so the dealership took care of everything to replace it, both parts and labor.

That’s surprising they helped him since on the GM website it says if you don’t get it installed by whomever then you void warranty.

I like crate engines but I also like to build my own set up. Just depends on the job

I'd like crate engines that don't have quality issues lol. I'm with you...I was considering the LSX376-B15 for a long time but ended up with an LME engine. Not a huge price difference really.
