Default questions about the trail blazer ss?

My wife and I are looking to purchase a tb and I am trying to figure out if I want the awd or the 2. We dont go to the snow often but we go every now and then so the awd would be good for that, but I dont know if they will handle the mods I would like to do to it ( full exhaust, heads and cam, and supporting mods). Is it possible to lower the awd without having issues? School me on these guys I dont much about them other than the have the ls2 . what would you guys do? By the way we are both spirited drivers.

2wd are faster stock for stock, if modded an awd would be alot of fun. they also can be lowered .

You can lower the AWD about 1" - 1.5" before you start to have problems with the front shafts. Most just lower the AWD 1". The 2WD can be lowered about 2" -2.5" easily without giving up anything in ride or handling.

Mine is lowered but not as low as NorCals.

I don't know if you ever go to the mountains but AWD would be a bonus in the winter.

I know I would not have been spinning the whole way down the 1/8th last night if I was AWD.

I know a guy running the MagnaCharger and a 100 shot of nitrous on his AWD TBSS and his is doing great.
